Ca. 1985. Soviet Union Order of the Patriotic War, 1st class decoration Jubilee version of 1985 (Type 3). The hallmark denotes it being manufactured at the "Moscow Coinyard." This medal was awarded to a number of U.S. Navy Armed Guard members for their heroics during the Murmansk Run.
The Russian name for the decoration is: "Орден Отечественной войны
первой степени." The Order itself is comprised of two classes: 1st and 2nd. The highest degree of the order is 1st class.
